Birds of the Pantanal
Ok, I'm biased, I took it, but I really like this picture. This may be a Cattle Tyrant. |
This is a Cardinal Bird. |
Got him. Max sharpness. That was the next morning before I had to leave and saw him and took the girl with the glasses there. |
At some point a German guest came running up to me and said, do you want to see a toucan? Damned right I did. Been chasing those guys sine Central America. He pointed at a tree in the distance and said go there. He's all over and very noisy, This one is called a Toco Toucan. |
There are more, but these are as good as it gets. I was more than happy. He was noisy and in-your-face, and I figured he was running interference for a mate. He was. The was his female in the next tree over, very quiet. Not making a sound, barely moving. After a while, I think the two Swiss girls were with me, he settled down, maybe realizing that we were making no move toward the other tree. The sharp-eyed girls, however, suddenly celled out to me and pointed. They did see the female hiding. We left and were very happy with the pictures we got. |
What's left after that? You nibble a little here and there. Taste some piranha that some guys brought back and had the kitchen prepare. Tastes like, no, not chicken. More like tilapia. Rather mild, but too bony to have any commercial value. I was packing up and checking out for my wet ride back. |
